Tytti Metsä ja Hyypiöt is a new, up-and-coming ensemble that played its first gig at the Midnight Sun Film Festival in the summer of 2024. The trio's first album, which was recorded at E-studio in the spring and fall of 2024, will be released soon.

The musicians of this lineup are known from several top-class bands, such as Dumari ja Spuget, J. Karjalainen Yhtyeineen, Laika & The Cosmonauts, The Latebirds, Marjo Leinonen & Viranomaiset, Pauanne, Paukkumaissi, Pienet miehet, Scandinavian Music Group. Tytti Metsä is one of the front-line jouhikko players, and a long-time singer-musician and songwriter.

In the sound of the Tytti Metsä and Hyypiöt trio, the roughness of the jouhikko and Metsä's bright vocals combine with the hypnotic rhythmicity of Paatelainen's double bass and Haavisto's percussion. Finnish Folk Roots merge with swinging Americana sound. "This is like Laila Kinnunen meeting Tom Waits"
